Rejected by The Learning Exchange

Well, at least I tried, right? I submitted a proposal to teach a class about maternity care and birth options. We have a lot available here in the valley, but most people still choose to birth in a hospital. I think that happens mostly because people just don't know other options exist, or they have heard horrible and scary things about the alternatives, which are actually quite safe

I'm working on finding my niche for my massage business. It's hard because doing business "legally" in this area means getting a business license in every locale you think you might have clients in. In my city of residence, business license fees, finger printing, background check, passport photos, etc., can easily run $300 or more. Multiply that by my city, a couple of nearby cities, the county, and I easily have $1500 to front just to get started. That doesn't even take into account renewing my liability insurance which is another couple hundred.

I guess I have to take it slowly and see where most of my business is at. I'm hoping that focusing on my massage services to women (prenatal) and acupressure, that it'll cut down on the creepy phone calls I get because Yahoo! decided to put me in their business listings.
